Some Our Quality Trees
Acacia Monkey Thorn
The monkey thorn (Acacia galpinii Burtt Davy) is a large deciduous tree of Southern and Eastern Africa. A fast growing, long-lived tree, with a maximum height of 30 m, Acacia galpinii is the largest South African acacia. The trunk is 2 m in diameter. The bark is whitish-yellow in young trees and darkens with maturity.
Leopard 100 liter
Has nothing to do with the elegant predator
of the feline family other than its patchy dappled bark that looks like leopard
print. These slender, semi-deciduous trees are lovely additions to a garden. Something
about this exotic tree with feathery foliage makes you think of Africa. But
leopard tree information says it’s native to Brazil. The leopard tree has an
open crown and its groups of small, thin leaflets provide light to moderate
summer shade. The tree also offers panicle spikes of sunny yellow flowers at
the stem tips.
Mahogany
Mahogany is a commercially important lumber prized for its beauty, durability, and color, and used for paneling and to make furniture, boats, musical instruments and other items.
Rhus Lancea 100 litre
small evergreen tree, low branching, open, slow growing to 25 ft (7.6 m), upright, but branchlets weeping; bark gray or brown, rough. Leaves alternate, compound, 3 willow-like leaflets (trifoliate), each leaflet linear-lanceolate (terminal leaflet 12 cm × 1.5 cm), margin usually entire, rarely serrate, dark green above, paler to gray below.
Riverbush Willow
The River Bushwillow (Combretum Erythrophyllum) is a deciduous to semi-deciduous tree up to 20m high growth with a dense rounded crown. The growth rate is usually fast, 700mm 1.2 m per year. The tree can resist drought and frost, but keep it protected during the first two or three winters.
Schotia
It is known by various other names, including tree fuchsia, African greenheart and African walnut. A medium to large, spreading tree, growing up to 20 metres, but more commonly from 5 to 10 metres depending on conditions. Canopy spread can vary between 5 and 15 metres.
